A Potter Jiro Kinjo Okinawa discovered by Hamada Shoji His Fish is laughing Living National Treasure

Kinjo Jiro acquired traditional techniques of Tuboya Yaki and was recognized one of the great potters in Okinawa.
In 1985,he was designated a Living National Treasure and his works has been highly appreciated.
People say that many Japanese potters read this book including his great works throughly.
 
Hamada Shoji first met Kinjo Joro in 1924.Hamada was 30 years old and Kinji was still 13 years old at that time.
Hamada often has visited Okinawa and worked at Tusboya Kobo since 1918.
Kinjo watched Hamada make pottery at close range.
So it is natural that Hamada had a great influence on Kinjo's works.
